Gelatin is a purely natural product
Gelatin is obtained from collagen-containing, animal raw materials. In order to meet kosher and Halal requirements, we also produce varieties made from 100% bovine. With gelatin, liquids can be thickened, gelled, and converted into a solid mass. Because it is completely odorless and neutrally flavored, it has unlimited uses for desserts as well as savory dishes. Food gelatin is supplied in milled form, as gelatin powder, or in leaves, as leaf gelatin. The latter is particularly versatile and practical in its uses.
Leaf gelatin is a special form of edible gelatin. It is produced by first creating a thin film from liquid gelatin solution, which is then carefully dried and cut into rectangular sheets. These are particularly easy to portion. No weighing or measuring is required. You only need to count out the required number of sheets. As a rule of thumb: For 500 ml liquid you need 6 leaves of gelatin.
Healthy and indispensable
Leaf gelatin consists of 84 – 90 % pure protein. The rest is mineral salts and water. It contains neither fat, carbohydrates nor cholesterol or any preservatives or additives. Leaf gelatin is gluten free and allergen free.

GELITA leaf gelatin is available in different variants. These differ in the sheet thickness and thus in the number of sheets per kilogram. However, the gelling power per sheet is identical for all variants. This means that everyone can find exactly the leaf gelatin that meets their individual requirements.
GELITA leaf gelatin is available for many different applications. In addition to the color-free variety, it is also available as red leaf gelatin. A natural colorant is added during production. This makes it particularly attractive for many fruity dishes.
And in order to meet all religious requirements, leaf gelatin is also available as 100% halal and kosher certified bovine gelatin.

How can I prevent lumps from forming?
Always add the cold mixture gradually to the still warm gelatin solution. Never vice versa, otherwise threads or lumps will form.
Can I dissolve gelatin leaves in the microwave?
Yes, this is possible and very quick. At the highest setting, the soaked gelatin leaves dissolve after about ten seconds in the microwave.
